Sree Akkayamma Temple, one of the oldest and most famous temples in south Bangalore. Sree Akkayamma Temple honours the deity Grama Devathe Amma of Lakkasandra and the surrounding areas. It was constructed nearly 100 years ago, with a very simple building. The temple was rebuilt in 2014 with modern temple architecture and many more god idols such as Sri Siddi Vinayaka, Sri Nagalingeshwara, Sri Pancha Mukhi, and Anjeneya, and it was inaugurated by Dr. Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Swamiji, an Indian humanitarian, spiritual leader, and educator.
An unique thing about this temple is that the devotees of goddess Sree Akkayamma Devi holds special prayers on the various special occasions, which is considered as auspicious day for Hindus.

Tuesdays, Fridays and other special days are when the temple sees maximum footsteps and is packed to the capacity with devotees. All important festivals are celebrated in temple like (Mahashivarathri, Ashada shukravaragalu, shravana shanivaragalu, Karthika Somavaragalu, Deepavali, Hanuma Jayanthi, Vaikunta Ekadashi, etc.,). The temple anniversary is celebrated on Dusshera / Vijayadashami which is the 10th day of Ashwayuja masa as per hindu calendar, which mostly falls between September to October of the Roman calendar. Every year Navaratri is also celebrated very grandly with different homas and Alankaras to Sree Akkayamma Devi.
